Our Story

Mary and Brenden’s journey is a testament to faith and trusting God’s timing. Their story quietly began at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where they lived just steps from one another for four years and frequented the same corners of campus—yet their paths never crossed.

After graduation, life led them both to Chicago, where they lived just a mile apart and shared many of the same favorite spots. Mary even worked at the same company as Brenden’s roommates and lived on the same street as his sister; yet somehow, they still never met.

 

It was only in Charlotte, North Carolina, where God’s plan finally unfolded. Brenden moved there in the winter of 2023. Around that same time, Mary felt a strong calling to do the same, and she followed that calling six months later with no plan—only faith that her steps were being guided. Their first date was ice skating at the Whitewater Center, and a year later, Brenden proposed at that very spot, bringing their story full circle. Afterwards, both families surprised them with a joyful celebration.

At the heart of Mary and Brenden’s relationship is their shared Christian faith—a foundation that has shaped their love, united their families, and guided them every step of the way. From years of near encounters to the moment they said yes to forever, their story is a beautiful reminder that for those who love God and are called according to His purpose, all things work together for good (Romans 8:28).
